I own several Invicta watches, they have all kept good time, aesthetically pleasing, and simple to operate for the most part. Battery life is also pretty good, and it's worth noting that you can extend the warranty directly with Invicta online to protect you purchase. A word about the MSRP...... Rubbish basically, I have never seen these watches, or any of the Invicta range even close to the suggested price shown here, even from main store retailers, in fact this is born out by the fact that Costco and Sams club carry a wide range, and their prices are similar to purchase price here. They are good value for money, just don't get hoodwinked into believing this watch is in the $500 range, it isn't. Like most of the range the face is pretty large, with the crown it comes up at just a sneak under 50mm or 2", so consider that if you have slim wrists. It's probably politically incorrect to say a "mans" watch, but that's certainly the style, large, chunky and robust,... The Invicta name was purchased from the original Swiss manufacturer and is used by a company with headquarters in Hollywood, Florida. Most sales are of low-end models with inexpensive quartz movements put together in Hong Kong or some with mechanical automatic movements use Japanese Seiko manufactured movements. Some models have Swiss movements and will say so on the back. This model has "Swiss Parts Movement" etched on its back. It does not say "Swiss Made". It is likely made in Hong Kong. It is a "value" watch and not to be compared with Swiss Made watches that sell for much more...but is fine for what it is. The retails on Invictas are generally hyper-inflated, so don't believe you're receiving an 80 or 90 percent discount. The watch is huge! It is in the style of a scuba watch with rubber strap and very large high contrast numerals. It is water resistant to 100 meters. It has a heavy duty steel case and back. The numerals are not very bright in darkness after... This is a nifty, rugged, casual watch for a big man with a large frame. If your wrist's on the skinny side, pass this one by. But if you're a big guy, you'll like this for casual wear. The watch's case is actually a full 2 inches wide (not counting an extra 1/4" for the screw-down crown). It's massive! The numbers are HUGE and easy to read; great for anyone who's visually impaired & fun for the rest of us. The numbers, hands & large tick-marks are phosphorescent. They're white in daylight and glow a really cool looking Indigo blue/light purple in the dark. Initially, you'll have to expose the watch to light for 4-5 hours to "charge" the phosphorescent coating, but after that, regular exposure to light just from wearing the watch should keep it glowing in the dark as needed. Like all diver's watches we've owned, this one has a rubber watchband that's comfortable and easy to fit to the wrist. This is said to be water resistant to 330 feet and has a... Read more |
